    Ramadan: Ramadan is the month of fasting. Muslims fast during this whole month from sunrise to sunset. restaurant timings undergo a lot of changes during Ramadan, normally most restaurants are closed during the day, however, hotels will offer dining options, and certain restaurants around the city are open for takeaways. Everything however opens up for iftar (the evening meal after sunset to break the fast) after Maghrib or sunset prayer.

    Eid Al Fitr: Eid Al Fitr is an important festival. Muslims celebrate Eid Al Fitr at the end of Ramadan. It is a time for family and friends to come together and the celebrations, share meals, and many local activities. Most offices and schools are closed during the time of Eid Al Fitr and restaurants may have shorter operating hours during the first 3-5 days of the celebrations.

    Eid Al Adha: Eid Al Adha is an important festival in Saudi Arabia, it is celebrated by Muslims a day after the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage, Eid Al Adha falls on the tenth day in the final month (Dhu al-Hijjah) of the Islamic or Lunar Calendar. As the dates of Hajj also vary slightly from year to year, so does the actual day of Eid Al Adha. Five days before and after Eid most businesses close and restaurants have shorter opening hours.

    Saudi National Day: This is very special. Saudi National Day celebration is dedicated to the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is celebrated on 23 September (annually). All businesses, schools, and offices are closed for this national holiday, and many special events and activities around the country happen.

    Saudi Founding Day: Saudi Founding Day is a public holiday that takes place on 22 February every year and commemorates the foundation of the Saudi state in 1727 by Imam Mohammed bin Saud. There are festivities across many days including parades, concerts, and other special celebrations.
